Rugby Information for parents
This section should hopefully help you understand the game and answer any questions you may have.
How much does it cost?
2017 dues are $190 per player. This registration includes 10th Anniversary Training shirt, team equipment, coaching, match day trainer, field costs and insurance.
What are we committing to?
Preseason practice: Sunday afternoons for approximately 1 1/2 hours.
Starting January 8th, through to early March.
At Radnor High School Turf Field
Outdoor practice: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Starting in March to the end of May, 4:30-6:30 pm
All matches are played Sunday afternoon, from 12:00 - 4:00pm, March, April and May
- Specific game schedules are being finalized and will be distributed by your team’s coach
- Preseason matches may be scheduled on Sundays in early March
- Furthest drive to an away match is about 1 hour.
What equipment do we need?
Game Day Jersey: Provided by the club for game day use and then magically laundered by house elfs!
Shorts: Gilbert Black Rugby shorts can be purchased at www.worldrugbyshop.com for $18
Socks: Gilbert Navy/White Training sock at www.worldrugby.com for $10
Mouth Guard: Required for all play and practice from any sporting goods store.
Cleats: Any Soccer or Football cleats
And, yes, you do really have to pass the ball backwards to go forwards!
